Today's lesson was mostly spent analysing another two intro/title sequences from more thrillers.
The two new openings we watched were of "One hour photo" and "The silence of the lambs".
There were quite large differences between the two. "One hour Photo" began with a very interesting title sequence where the short opening credits slowly wiped across the screen, before flashing like a camera and disappearing. Then there were stark backgrounds with very little colour, the mood was solemn. Then it cut to a flashback and there was colour everywhere, being narrated by Robin Williams' character.
"The silence of the lambs" had a less interesting opening. It was simply three minutes of Joie foster running through a forest while Large, bold lettering flashed up on the screen. It wasn't very interesting and the music seemed to be completely different to the mood.
Either way though, we're taking everything we can get at this stage, the more research and experience we can govern: the better for us as a group!
